Protect your crystal by building defence towers, and watch them level up as they defeat enemies. Not content to watch? Get into the action with melee, or take control of one of your towers.
Interesting Take on an Old Genre
Okay, Crystal Reign isn't Earth shatteringly original in its concept or execution, but has just enough going for it to set it apart from a regular tower defence style game. You set up your defences as you would in any tower defence game. You have a choice of different towers, such as Cannon Towers or Support Towers. Where Crystal Reign sets itself apart a little is in the ability for you to get directly involved with the action. You can take control of a tower, passively upgrading it as you do. But if that's not enough, you can get down on the ground and melee the attackers yourself! There are a number of different environments to battle in, giving a nice bit of variety to your game—though more maps would be nice. Much of the typical tower defence features seem to have been simplified, making this more appealing to casual gamers.
Value for Money
Crystal Reign is fun, looks good, and has a decent amount of content for the price. In addition to more maps, it would benefit from more tower types, also.
